The former heavyweight champ – set to make his Las Vegas debut against Tom Schwarz next month – looked delighted as he took home this Belgian Malinois from London’s Elite Protection Dogs where animals can cost up to £27,000.

The breed, also known as a Belgian shepherd, is used by the US Secret Service to guard the grounds of the White House.

A pal of the “Gypsy King”, who welcomed his fifth child with wife Paris in February, said: “Tyson takes his family’s safety very seriously.

“He’s away training a lot and travels all the time for work so he wanted to make sure everyone and everything was safe.

“Plus he always goes for the best, and this dog is the cream of the crop.”

It’s no secret Tyson, 30, loves his pooches – last month vowing he’d make his rivals pick up his dog’s poo.

In a threat to heavyweight belt holders Deontay Wilder, 33, and Anthony Joshua, 29, Tyson said: “When they’re all skint, I’ll employ you boys don’t worry, bring you over and you can brush up the drive, pick a few leaves up.

“And when you sign a few autographs on my behalf, carry me bags, clean me pool, feed me animals and pick up me dog s**t because that’s all you’ll be good for sooner or later.”

But before anything else, Tyson will square up to undefeated German Schwarz, 24, on June 15 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

While he’s away he can rest assured his pup will be keeping his most prized possessions safe.

Prices for the company’s dogs with “elite genes and skills” start at £10,000.

All of the animals come from long lines of military and police dogs used for protecting borders, searching for missing persons and drugs, and sniffing for bombs in war zones.

They are also trained by police and military personnel to fit in with families.

The friend added: “That’s why Tyson chose this company. He wants to know if any would-be robbers come sniffing around, they won’t stand a chance.”

Other famous fans of Elite Protection Dogs include Aston Villa footballer Henri Lansbury, 28, and Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury, 21.

England and Manchester City star Raheem Sterling, 24, also has a £15,000 Rottweiler called Okan to protect his £2million mansion in rural Cheshire.
