Sheriff’s Report: bomb prank just one of the incidents from Aug. 30-Sept. 23

Attempted Residential Burglary: Between 7 a.m. on Aug. 30 and 8:35 a.m. on Sept. 17, unknown suspects attempted to enter a residence in the 20000 block of Sevilla Lane by breaking the outer pane of a window, but did not gain entry.

Forgery: Between Sept. 6 and Sept. 15, unknown suspects forged checks belonging to a Saratoga resident for a total loss of about $747.

Attempted Mail Theft, Vandalism: Between 2:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 17, unknown suspects used an unknown object to pry open the mailbox of a residence in the 13000 block of Chalet Clotilde Drive, breaking the locking mechanism. No mail was taken, and the total amount of damage is unknown.

Residential Burglary: On Sept. 18 between 10:40 a.m. and 11:20 a.m., unknown suspects broke the rear sliding glass door of a residence in the 18000 block of Emanuel Court and took a laptop for a total loss of about $1,500.

False Bomb Report: At 1:21 on Sept. 20, deputies responded to a bomb report at Redwood Middle School on Fruitvale Avenue. An investigation revealed a student left a sweatshirt on the playground, and when the student went to retrieve it later in the day, he found a note in the sweatshirt stating there was a bomb on campus. The student reported it to school officials, and deputies, with the assistance of a K9 bomb-detection dog, determined the threat to be false. The suspect is unknown and at large.

Residential Burglary: Between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., on Sept. 21, unknown suspects entered a residence in the 18000 block of Dorcich Court by forcing a window open and took electronics and jewelry for an unknown total loss.

Petty Theft: On Sept. 21 between 2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., unknown suspects took a rear tire from a vehicle parked at the Joan Pisani Community Center on Allendale Avenue for a total loss of about $204.

Residential Burglary Between 9:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 22, unknown suspects entered a residence in the 12000 block of Paseo Olivos through an unlocked door and took a television for a total loss of about $3,000.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Arrest: At 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 22, deputies made contact with a bicyclist in the area of Saratoga Avenue and Prospect Road. An investigation revealed the bicyclist was in possession of drug paraphernalia, in violation of the suspect’s probation. The bicyclist was cited and released.

Residential Burglary: Between 4:45 p.m. and 10:29 p.m. on Sept. 23, unknown suspects entered a residence in the 15000 block of El Camino Grande after breaking a glass door and took cash, jewelry and a safe for a total loss of about $50,000.

Public Intoxication, Arrest: At 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person at Saratoga Avenue and Moran Lane. An investigation revealed the suspect was unable to care for himself due to being under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and booked into jail.
