C.C.E. Central Dispatch Authority says a bomb threat was made towards the Cheboygan Walmart location around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
The store was evacuated and temporarily closed.
Cheboygan Police Chief Kurt Jones at the time said there was no threat to the public.
Staff at the Cheboygan Walmart say the store was later reopened that night.
A similar threat was made in Kent County at the Wyoming Walmart Supercenter around 5:55 p.m. according to dispatch.
Police say drug-sniffing dogs swept the store and it was also reopened.
They say their investigative division will be looking into the incidents to see if there is any connection.
