Friends of K-9 was organized in order to help support K-9 teams and provide education and awareness to the public.

We host annual training events and provide equipment to K-9 teams as needed.

We have also provided K-9's to departments both in order to expand their capabilities as well as replacing dogs lost in the line of duty. We have established and maintain the Apollo Fund to help replace any dog lost in the line of duty.

We help arrange K-9 demonstrations for the public and always include them in our own fundraising events. Our annual 5K Run & Dog Walk has continued to grow and the demonstrations are always a favorite. The annual Police K-9 competition continues to grow as well bringing in the public to cheer for their favorite K-9 teams.

As the organization grows we will continue to expand our efforts to support the K-9's as well as continue to make the public aware of their contribution to the safety of the community in which they serve.

We currently do most of our work within New Mexico but are prepared to expand when the time is right. We are also seeking other organizations that support their local K-9 units to join us.
